A new, curated Brighton and Hove food festival built around talks, a one-day Food Street on New Road and community supper clubs.

BrightonFoodStory, curated by food writer and podcaster Gilly Smith, launched in October 2026 and is meant to be annual. It focuses on ideas and stories rather than trade stands, and traders and speakers are invited rather than paying to take part.

The weekend has three strands: Food Street, a one-day showcase of local, seasonal food traders with a demo stage on New Road; panel talks with chefs, farmers, fishers and campaigners; and a Long Table Supper Club of community dinners across the city celebrating migrant food cultures.

Food Street is free and needs no ticket; supper clubs are booked separately with each host.
