A three-day chilli festival in the gardens of Benington Lordship near Stevenage, with dozens of independent chilli traders.

Held in the gardens of Benington Lordship, about four miles east of Stevenage, this three-day festival gathers independent chilli traders selling plants, seeds, sauces, chutneys, pickles, chilli cheese and chocolate, along with foods from around the world to sample. Stalls are set out through the garden, with cold beers and ice creams on hand.

Running since 2006, it attracts thousands of visitors over the weekend. Entertainment has included escapology acts, live music and ferret racing.

Free parking is provided in fields behind the gardens; visitors are asked not to park on the village roads or green. Information for disabled visitors is on the Lordship website.
