A one-day harbourside street party in Brixham celebrating the British sardine, grilled over charcoal by well-known seafood chefs.

The South West Sardine Festival made its debut on Brixham's quayside in 2025 and returned in 2026. Long communal tables line the harbour while chefs grill British sardines over charcoal; the 2026 line-up included Matt Tebbutt, Mitch Tonks, Mark Hix and River Cottage's Steven Lamb.

Entry is free. A £12 token buys a plate of grilled sardines with salad and a bread roll; sardines are the only dish and there are no other food stalls. There is also a bar, short talks on fishing and sustainability, live music from the afternoon into the evening, and entertainment for children.

Fish market rules keep dogs off parts of the quay, but there is a dog-friendly area near Rockfish. The organisers suggest the long-stay Brixham Marina car park.
