A four-day celebration of the native Fal oyster and Cornish seafood on Falmouth's Events Square, marking the start of the dredging season.

Falmouth Oyster Festival marks the opening of the oyster dredging season, which runs from October to March. It champions the native Fal oyster, which by ancient rule may only be dredged using sail and oar power, a method the organisers describe as unique in Europe.

Based in a marquee on Events Square at Discovery Quay, the festival has cookery demonstrations by Cornish chefs, oyster and seafood feasting, an arts and crafts market and live music. Food and drink masterclasses take place nearby at KONA.

Entry is free all day on Thursday and Sunday and until 6pm on Friday and Saturday; the evening entertainment needs a ticket. Dogs are allowed during the day but not at ticketed events. There are no festival car parks, but Grove Place and National Maritime car parks are close by.
