Scottish Wild Food Festival
2027 dates not announced yet — usually in September
Tir na nOg, near Balfron, Balfron, Stirlingshire · Scotland
A weekend gathering devoted to foraging and wild food, held in woodland near Balfron on the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
The Scottish Wild Food Festival celebrates foraging and wild food. Over a weekend there are wild food meals, guided foraging walks, wild drinks and cocktail making, bushcraft, talks and demonstrations, forest school activities for children, live music and a marketplace, all around the courtyard and woodland trails of Tir na nOg.
It started in 2019 as part of a Forth Valley and Lomond LEADER project on wild food and foraging. After a pause for the pandemic and a change of venue it grew in 2022 and 2023, and it tried a spring date in 2025 before returning in September for 2026.
A festival ticket gives access to the site, and many workshops are paid extras that need booking in advance. Parking on site is limited, so the organisers ask people to share cars. Car parking and cycling tickets are sold on the booking page, and transfers from Balfron are planned.
