A free-to-enter, ten-day festival of Scottish street food, producers and folk music in George Square Gardens, held just before the Fringe.

What began in 2014 as the Edinburgh Food Festival now runs as the Edinburgh Folk & Food Festival. For ten days, Scottish food and drink vendors set up in Assembly's George Square Gardens, with folk music from Scotland and further afield.

Past programmes have included family cookery workshops, butchery demonstrations, talks with artisan producers and a producers' market weekend. In 2024 it hosted the Scottish heat of the British Street Food Awards.

Entry to the gardens is free, and some programmed events in the Piccolo and Palais du Variété venues are ticketed. The site is cashless. Dogs on leads are allowed until 8pm, and the venues are accessible, though the ground outdoors can be uneven.
