A spring weekend of celebrity chef demos and around 150 regional food and drink traders in Bishop Auckland's Market Place.

Durham County Council's spring food festival fills Bishop Auckland's Market Place, in front of the town hall, with more than 150 independent traders selling street food, cakes, local drinks, cheeses and chutneys.

A programme of TV chef demonstrations runs through the weekend (Phil Vickery and Chris Bavin were among the 2026 line-up), alongside children's cookery workshops, a chocolate masterclass, walkabout performers, live music and craft activities.

A park and ride shuttle runs from Bishop Auckland College (£2.50 adults, 50p children, under-5s free). Town-centre car parks are open but busy, and roads around the centre close.
